Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Usiku when you use the service. Last updated 24 September 2026.
Using Usiku
You must be 18 or over, and of legal age to enter the venues you book through us, and follow each venue's own rules, including its dress code and right of admission. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you submit and for keeping your account secure.
What Usiku is
Usiku lists venues and events in Nairobi and books tables on behalf of partner venues. The night itself — entry, service, food, drink and safety — is provided by the venue. Listings, prices and lineups come from venues, promoters and public posts; we work to keep them current but cannot guarantee that a venue or promoter will not change them.
Reservations
A booking is confirmed once any fee due has been paid, or straight away for a table that is free or priced as a minimum spend. A table held while you pay is released if payment is not completed in time. A minimum spend is a commitment to spend at least that amount at the venue on the night, paid at the venue.
Reservation booking fee
Some reservations require a booking fee (shown before payment, charged in KES via M-Pesa or card through Paystack). The fee confirms your commitment to show up; it is a Usiku service fee and is not deducted from your bill at the venue.
Cancellations are refundable for 12 hours after booking, and any time up to 24 hours before the night — whichever of the two runs later. A booking made close to the night still has its 12-hour window, but that window never runs past the start of the night itself. If the venue cannot honour your reservation, the booking fee is refunded in full automatically.
Each confirmed reservation has an arrival deadline (stated in your confirmation email, 23:30 Nairobi time by default). Arriving after the deadline voids the reservation and the booking fee is not refunded. Modifications are accepted up to 24 hours before the night via WhatsApp or Instagram.
Bottle orders, split bills and gifts
You can pre-order drinks for a confirmed table. Prices include Usiku's guest fee, shown before you pay. When a bill is split, each person pays their own share through their own link, and the order goes to the venue only once every share is paid. If the order is not fully paid by its deadline, or the reservation is cancelled or refused, every share already paid is refunded to the card or account it came from.
A gift link lets someone send a bottle to your table. Some orders — gifts, and orders paid with a card issued outside Kenya — are served only after the guest has checked in at the door.
Refunds
Refunds go back to the original payment method. Paystack and your bank or mobile-money provider decide how long that takes; a refund is complete only once they confirm it.
Tickets sold by others
Some events link to tickets sold by a promoter or a ticketing site. Those tickets are a contract between you and that seller: Usiku is not a party to the sale and cannot issue, change or refund them.
Your conduct
Do not misuse Usiku: no false bookings, no reselling tables or links, no fraudulent payments or chargebacks, no scraping, and no ratings, claims or content that are misleading, abusive or not yours to post. We may cancel bookings or close accounts that break these terms.
Content and intellectual property
The Usiku name, design and software are ours. Venue, promoter and event names, logos and flyers belong to their owners. If you believe something on Usiku infringes your rights, see IP infringement.
Liability
Usiku connects you with nightlife partners; the experience at each venue is provided by that venue, and we are not responsible for what happens there. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for any booking is limited to the amount you paid Usiku for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Kenya's Consumer Protection Act.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. We may update them; the date at the top shows the current version, and a booking is governed by the terms in force when you made it. Questions: [email protected]. How we handle your data: Privacy Policy.
